Tetsuro ITO has been Director for AEO Program as well as Director, Office of Intellectual Property Rights for two years. He has various experiences in the Government of Japan for over twenty-eight years since he joined Customs and Tariff Bureau, Ministry of Finance in 1996. Before assuming his current positions, he worked three times in the Cabinet Secretariat, which is responsible for policy-making and general coordination of critical Cabinet policies under the Prime Minister of Japan, and was in charge of anti-counterfeiting and piracy measures, negotiations on multilateral economic partnership agreements, and the establishment of integrated resorts with casino. He has also worked as a customs/financial attaché two times at the Embassy of Japan, one in the United States of America and the other in Brazil. He specializes in policy-making and managerial operations such as customs classification, protection of intellectual property rights, and AEO program.
