Customs clearance refers to customs procedures involving inbound and outbound passengers declaring their baggage to the customs authorities, who check items and may require the payment of a duty — or exempt them from duty — in accordance with the law.
The mainstream language in Shenzhen is Mandarin Chinese, also known as Putonghua. Cantonese and English are also widely used. Some public service institutions may provide multilingual services. Citizens from all over the country also use local dialects for communication.

In Chinese mainland, the common power voltage is 220 Volt 50 Hz AC.
Chargers of most electronic devices like cell phones, tablets, and cameras can function normally in the wide power voltage of 110~240V. Most hotels ranking above 3 stars in China provide electrical outlets of both 110V and 220V in the bathrooms, though in guest rooms usually only 220V sockets are available. There are two kinds of sockets widely used in Chinese mainland: type A and type I. The type A can also accept plugs of type C or F, which are commonly seen in most European countries.
Shenzhen has a subtropical monsoon climate. The weather is generally temperate to mild, with plenty of rain and sunshine.
With an average temperature of 22 C (72 F) of the whole year, Shenzhen has a long mild summer and short relatively warm winter, which makes the city a year-round travel destination.
