Veerle Dierendonck Attaché - National contactperson AEOBelgian Customs

Ms Dierendonck started working for the Belgian General Administration of Customs and Excise in November 2005. First in the Port of Antwerp and in October 2007, she joined the team that was working on the roll-out of the AEO-program in Belgium . After this, she also took on other challenges such as auditing specific national authorisation and starting up the e-audit team of Belgian Customs. Today, she is am one of the national AEO contact persons and experts. When in 2017 the need arose to focus on e-commerce, she was assisting the project leader, and slowly but surely took over the lead. She was one of the driving forces behind the Belgian e-commerce application BE-Gate that was launched in 2019. As she follows the worldwide evolution, she is now considered our national e-commerce expert. In 2021 she also became one of the WCO accredited experts in the area of E-Commerce.
