Mr. Erik Moncayo is the International President of the World BASC Organization, an international non-profit organization, created in 1996 to reduce the risk of legitimate trade from drugs, smuggling, money laundering and illicit products, among others. WBO works in constant cooperation with governments and the private sector for safe trade consisting of more than 4,000 companies in 19 countries, representing every sector of the international supply chain. Currently, the World BASC Organization is headquartered in Miami, Florida. Mr. Moncayo has more than 25 years of experience dedicated in large part to service in the U.S. Federal Government in the areas of security, intelligence and analysis, international relations, employee training and development, and organizational design and management. He began his federal career with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in February 1996 in Douglas, Arizona. Nationally, he held positions as a supervisory agent in Douglas, Arizona, and Charleston, South Carolina, and Assistant Chief in the Intelligence Division at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) headquarters. He has also served as Division Chief in El Centro, California. He has represented CBP internationally; as CBP Attaché in Mexico and the Republic of Panama. His career with the U.S. Government culminated as the Acting Assistant Commissioner of CBP's Office of International Affairs (INA), where he provided executive leadership in strategic planning, short- and long-range activities and projects with national and international impact. He was responsible for coordinating and supporting initiatives, programs, and activities abroad on behalf of CBP. Throughout his government career, he successfully negotiated and expanded several notable international CBP initiatives. Mr. Moncayo led the creation and implementation of several best practices in strategic planning, risk management, organizational leadership. His career accomplishments have enhanced border and trade security for the United States and its partners. For his contributions to the integration of the international security mission, he has received Distinguished Service Awards from the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of State, and the Panamanian National Border Police. Mr. Moncayo holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice Administration (summa cum laude) from Columbia Southern University.
